Lyd2 in 009: chassis started...
I've spent a pleasant evening assembling the custom designed nickel silver etched chassis from Stuart Brewer...
This has gone together very easily with a gentle reaming of the bearing holes before soldering them in position. I have also added the spring detail to the side frames. The axles slim freely and seem to sit in line although the real test will be with wheels fitted.
The end plate frame spacers incorporate a nifty designed coupling bar to help the long engine pull and propel stock on sharp corners.
The next step is to assemble the wheels inside the frame, for which I need to source a wheel back to back gauge or a set of digital callipers.
