Railways everywhere...
I spent a lovely weekend over Easter at the Haven holiday park near Pwllheli in North Wales. Whilst wandering about I found what felt like it must have been a track bed, later on a platform, then I had to Google it and yes, Butlins built a miniature railway here in the 1950s that lasted until the mid 1990s.
Now a cycle way, the railway started near the main centre of the holiday park, and headed for the coast before skirting around a headland to a lovely beach. Not insignificant are the amount of earthworks and rock cuttings, this was by no means a fun park line. It looks like it must have been 18" to 2' from the track bed but I'm sure if you Google it you can find pictures and more information. It just goes to show that you can literally find railways everywhere!
