O&K 20hp in 009: basic painting...

The O&K 20hp is making progress and the basic painting is complete...
I have gone for black with a red chassis and picked out some pipework in brass. The spectacle window frames were painted red first an then the raised edge picked out in brass, as the cab sides, boiler and cylinders will feature red lining. These cruel close ups show the damaged rear cab - although it looks nice the open framing is prone to fracture when printed in FUD so has been repaired with super glue several times! It's not as noticeable in the flesh. More soon...

  1. Don't worry about the broken cab collumn. Those little damages make such forestry locomotives come alive and let them look more realistic.

I guess 3D-print together with edged brass parts is a good basis for batch productions. Inspired by your great models, I like to use this techinque to realize the old Zillertalbahn engine #4 (the little 2-4-0) one day. But actually I've to many other projects on the run.
