A visit to Grindley Brook wharf...
Sunday morning saw a trip round to my friend Tim's home to see the nearly complete 'Grindley Brook Wharf' layout he's knocked together in a little over 3 weeks!
Yes the layout you see in these pictures was built in about 3 weeks - incredible!
The photos were taken in Tim's poorly lit garage so although the camera is usually great, it did struggle with the lighting conditions a touch, so some of the shots are a little blurred, but included for interest.
They show my two completed 009 engines (the Worsley Works W&L railbus and IOM Schoema diesel - both on Kato tram chassis) with his larger GW engines - these hardly fitted the tight clearances of the line. I also took a few shots of some of the smaller locomotives to show a comparison in size. It's a very cute little layout, well proportioned and finished - and it runs well too. It's inspired me to move on with my own micro layout (the industrial shed) ahead of our joint layout (the layout the GW locos are planned and built for . Anyway enough rambling, you can see the photos on the following link.
