Sample Peco tippers...

I felt very privileged this weekend to play host to some early samples of Peco's forthcoming 'tipper's in 009...
Designed and brought down to the show by David Malton, these are quite obviously based on the Hudson tippers and are beautifully proportioned and very very crisply moulded. Suffice to say the run very nicely indeed and the close coupling is ingenious and not very obtrusive at all.
They played their part on Creech Bottom, seen here with a variety of locomotives so you can gauge their size. They are overscale, as David explained, due to the track gauge in 009, and to make use of Peco's existing wheels. However they do look very nice behind certain 'scale agnostic' locomotives, especially in my humble opinion, the Narrow Planet Bagnall...
They also coped very easily with the insanely tight radius in the peat layout, again looking perfectly at home with the EuroNG LKM NS2.
I believe Peco are now stock building ahead of launch so these should be available very shortly indeed in three liveries. Thumbs up from me - I'll be getting a set for the peat layout.

  1. Nice V tippers from Peco.
Do you think that these tippers will match with Minitrains coupling (the height). Thank you.
