Minitrains vs Peco point geometry...

John Wooden of the Festiniog Railway shop and the lovely Isle of Stoner layout and blog brought along some Minitrains track to the WHR Great and Small exhibition this weekend...
I thought people might be interested in this comparison with a Peco N-gauge set-track point, which is identical in geometry to the new Peco 009 set-track points.
As you can see the rail profile is thicker, and the curve is sharper. They seem nicely made and are labelled as made in Germany. The point blades look like they're machined from a solid piece of metal which means they feel robust and look lovely. I am contemplating a pair for a future layout now, but at the price, I'd not flinch at using the Peco set-track despite being insul-frog.
