K40 in 7/8ths: More detail...
The bonnet front and rear bonnet doors are off to be etched, as they have quite distinctive flush grill mesh. I've also got a set of Alan Keef works plates on order to give the finishing touch. However it's in the cab where most work has focused. The roof has been fitted, and is removable - this is because otherwise the figure is stuck! He is a Model-earth Winter diesel driver with a different head fitted. The cab so far only has a throttle, I need to add some representation of a brake and electric starter buttons and gauges. The cab door has the inside framing added from 1mm square section styrene.
The driver has been modified a touch, by moving his raised foot back to being on the floor by cutting the knee and re-gluing and filling using Humbrol green modelling filler. A very versatile and workable material, and being Humbrol, more readily available from the other brands. Next up, a bit more detailing on the bonnet and chassis... More soon...
