A green Wasp...
Well the wife is out with some friends, the magazine is nearly finished and I had an evening free...
It seemed only sensible to get a coat of green on Wasp to see how he was shaping up! This is a Humbrol matt dark green tinlet, airbrushed on. I masked the wasp stripes using the same B&Q professional tape, this time cut to the exact rectangle required. Once this has had a chance to dry for a few days I shall start to pick out the details - the silver window frames, windscreen wipers, headlights etc. I also have some etched brass works plates for each end to apply from Narrow Planet (www.narrowplanet.co.uk).
Once the exterior is roughly finished I'll seal it with a coat of matt varnish to reduce the risk of damage before painting the interior (by brush) in light cream and fabricating an engine compartment and rudimentary seating. Then glazing, and finally a gentle weathering - probably just some dilute muck on the underframe and around the radiator, and then an airbrush dusting of dirt over the underframe and a touch lighter dusting over the roof.
