Polish LAS in 009: ready for weathering...

Another engine nearly there, this time the LAS has it's basic detail and paint job finished and is now ready for weathering...

After touching in the black and painting the cab handrails white I applied a coat of Testors Dullcote, and then proceeded to fit the window glazing and crew. The roof was then fixed down with superglue. The coal load was added with real coal in the bunker and etched works plates added to each cab side.
Next up is weathering - first will be a wash of dirty brown and black to the top of the tanks and chassis, then a dusting of brown underneath and sooty black from above on the body finished by some dry brushing of gunmetal on the metal edges that would see some wear.
Frustratingly this outdoor photos taken last night again show how hard it is to capture an accurate representation of the green I have used! More soon...
