Diema DS40 in 009...

I've been working on developing a kit for the Diema DS40 to use the Minitrains Gmeinder chassis for a few months as a 'quickie' project...

It's gone together really easily, and this prototype was the first and final version. Both the 3D printed body and etched nickel silver details fitted perfectly as intended!
The body print includes the buffing blocks as seperate items so you can fix them at the height you want, and the sandboxes are part of the print but designed so they can be carefully 'snapped off' if you don't want them. The etched parts fix neatly in place, the bonnet handrails and cab handrail holes are pre-formed, along with the exhaust hole, but the bonnet side door panel handles need drilling out with a 0.45mm drill bit.
The Minitrains Gmeinder chassis is a tight push fit in the body, and the motor fills the cab. This is a very narrow body, and is even smaller than the existing EuroNG LKM NS2.
People have asked me about the style of cab. For a long time I didn't try and draw up a Diema as often they had a low cab fitted that wouldn't allow space for the motor and flywheel, but I found some pictures of a variant built in the 1960s with rounded corner square windows like this, with a taller cab, and this fits perfectly on the chassis.
This model would be at home on a peat railway either British or European, and is a true 009 1:76 model.
I will have a small series of kits for sale at ExpoNG, and it will then be available online through Narrow Planet later in November. More soon...
