Gmeinder 80PS in 009...
I've been looking for another prototype for a EuroNG kit for sometime. When Minitrains announced the LKM NS2f I started looking at possible options...
The Gmeinder 80PS was a Feldbahn diesel locomotive built between the wars, and I've found only a handful of photographs in 'Feldbahnen I'm Dritten Reich' book by Fach and Steuber but no drawings so have been making approximate scaling from estimated dimensions such as track gauge, height of a man and making it 'look' right on the LKM chassis.
This will be a multi-media kit, the grey parts are 3D printed and the yellow will be etched nickel silver. The main core of the model is 3D printed, along with a radiator and buffers. Etched parts include bonnet front, bonnet doors, buffer beams, cab sides, cab rear, roof and side frame inserts.
The last few things are to add holes for handrails to the cab sides, handrail knob holes along the bonnet and then draw up an exhaust. I hope to be able to order prototype parts soon, release in Q2. More soon...
