Industrial inspiration...
The Bowaters mill complex in Kent was host to a vast 2'6" gauge railway that served the mills at Sittingbourne and Kemsley with the dock at Ridham...
Host to an array of powerful narrow gauge locomotives and largely steam worked until the end of regular operation on 1969, David Hammersley's excellent book has a good pictorial record including some history, track plans and detailed captions. A good book on an interesting subject. Well worth the £11.99 retail price although Amazon were doing them cheaper at the time of writing.
