Nice retirement: Paper mill to a zoo...

We had a surprise day out to Whipsnade today and it was cool to see one of the former Bowaters engines in steam. A trio came to the 2.5mile 2'6 line at the zoo when the paper mill moved to road transport in 1970.

The zoo was very cold but good, and the train tour was awesome. We saw loads more than when we walked about or caught the bus.

I'm hoping to call into Leighton Buzzard's 2' narrow gauge line tomorrow on the way home!
