Romanian Krauss in 009...

I recently acquired the Roco Feldbahn steam loco from German Ebay for a good price with the express intention of putting together a model of the unique Krauss 0-6-0t used on a number of forestry lines in Romania.

The prototype is still in operation at Viseu de Sus, but I intend to model it in an earlier condition, largely inspired by this photo...

The body will be scratch-built in Plasticard but I do plan on getting some custom parts etched, likely to be spectacle frames and wheel inserts for a start.

This evening I stripped down the Roco engine and made a start in the body. It is surprising how much larger the model is going to be, but being 4mm vs 3.5mm also adds to the size increase. More soon...
