PX48 in 009: first coat of primer...

One of the issues with 3D printing is achieving a good surface on the cheaper sintered nylon finishes. The PX48 is printed in white strong and flexible, polished. It isn't bad by any means but will require some careful work.
The biggest issue with the PX48, which Richard is aware of and hoping to correct, is the number of edges used to draw the boiler. This has resulted in quite obvious lines. These are not due to the print process but are actually part of the 3D model. Before I primed it I have burnished these quite severely with a rotary polishing tool, even so they are still visible so a little more required.

The one thing I'm pleased with is the general proportions of things now with the corrected cab profile and roof, along with the wonderful dome and funnel from Paul. More soon, but for now I will leave the primer to harden for a few days...
