PX48 in 009: second coat...

I rubbed down, buffed up and smoothed the first coat of primer on the GLR 3D Designs PX48.

Using Halfords plastic primer is good because it dries and smoothes - and is easily rubbed down. I used 1600 grade wet and dry paper used wet, and also the flat end of a small screwdriver to sand and burnish the surface before applying a second coat.
I'm quite pleased with the result so far - there are a few areas to address but then I think one last coat will be sufficient, being careful not to apply too much to the edges and getting that horrid rounded look from thick paint.
You can see the quality in these close ups, the boiler is looking pretty decent, the cab not bad, but the tender will need more work. More soon...
