Creech Grange in 006.5...

With Vowchurch on display at Warley on the Narrow Planet stand, I needed to test out my new Hudswell Clarke diesel prototype which was a good excuse to get out Creech Grange...
This small layout, inspired by Sand Hutton and Eaton Hall was at ExpoNG in 2017, and was a 'proof of concept' really for 006.5 and getting it out today reminded that it's just lovely to play trains watching the small Busch powered locomotives driving round slowly through a scene.
It was designed with the visual angles in mind, with sketches produced before wood was cut to make sure it was packed with different vignettes. The way trees, fences and buildings interact gives distinct viewing angles.
The new locomotive performed well, and looked at home, although I'm itching to build another micro layout now, and so have started doodling ideas for an even simpler track plan this time, after the one point Creech Grange, and the three point Vowchurch, the next layout will have no points! Yes, just a scenic oval... in a small box.
Hopefully I can get some of these small layouts exposed to more people through the modelling press this year, and share the possibilities and benefits of 006.5 for today's space starved narrow gauge modeller. More soon...
