LKM V10C in 009: chassis bodging...
I mentioned yesterday the Underground models 3D print of the East German LKM V10C diesel had arrived from Shapeways. This is designed to fit the N gauge Graham Farish 08 chassis.
However on this trial version the axle holes are in the wrong place so in have cut new slots in the chassis. Now I know it's about right the next stage is to thoroughly remove the wax from the model before filling the redundant slots and adding some details. Unfortunately I have knocked off the vent as well but this will be replace with a more robust metal turning at a later date hopefully. More on this project in the new year... More soon...
Here you can see it coupled to a Minitrains bolster wagon and compared with the Worsley Works VofR Baguley Drewry - showing it to be a similar size (not surprising as it's similar power).
