Polish LAS in 009: flashback...

I was going through some old photos today and stumbled upon this, it must be 1994 (ish) taken at the Midland Railway Centre...

What's interesting is a 14 year old me is stood in front of a pair of Polish LAS locomotives that had been imported. Both now are elsewhere, West Lancs has one, the Welsh Highland apparently the other... But how random is that! years later I do a model of one!

Tonight I have painted the chassis red, as the prototype I'm modelling has painted cranks. I think the transformation by painting the rims is amazing, it looks much less toy like. I have also made a start on the final smoothing of the body so I can start detailing it. More soon...
