Sand Hutton Hunslet in 009: front ended...

After plenty of constructive feedback this evening I tackled reshaping the flaring on the dome...

I first of all added some Squadron filler around the base. Once dry I shaped with a knife and smoothed with a file. The end result is a much more pleasing profile.
The front buffer beam (in reality a water tank) was made in plasticard and hollow so it could be filled with fluid lead. This has meant the chassis now is balance without the body although a bit more weight over the front end would be good. Hopefully the chimney (brass) and a bucket (white metal) on the buffer beam will add some much needed mass.
The other small change is cutting the frames under the cab, although the gear block is still there the frame shape now matches the prototype more closely.
So I hope you think the side profile is getting there now. The next step is detailing! More soon...
