Skip wagon in 7/8ths...

After work over the past few weeks on and off, my new flat wagon, based on a Model Earth skip wagon chassis, is finished...
It includes not only the Model Earth skip wagon, but also a Model Earth 'Welsh Flat' deck, and has been fitted with a scratch built brake stand and brake system and loaded with a few interesting essentials mostly from the Model Earth range.
The wagon was assembled as per the instructions before adding the brake system in styrene and Cambrian bolt heads. Painting followed my usual method. The wagon chassis is black, but made from Humbrol 33, 173 and 27004. The deck was painted in Humbrol 72, then dry brushed with a lighter brown made from 34 and 72. Once this was dry I picked out details in 98, before using 173 as a wash over the whole lot, and wiping it off to leave it stuck in the grooves.
The detail is then dry brushed, the chassis used Humbrol 53, and then I added the oil leak on the axle box here using gloss varnish and touch of Humbrol 85.
The oil can was painted and then weathered using wash of 33, 53 and 173 which was wiped vertically. The oil drip again from gloss varnish, dripping down the corner of the can as it if it's just been tipped.
The re-railing jacks were just painted with 173 and then wiped off, the Brasso can, a gift from a fellow 7/8ths modeller, has had a thin white added around the lid and top rim with a few drips down the side, and a greasy patch to hide the barcode.
Obviously it needed testing so I got out the Simplex and the Trefor wagon for some playing this evening...
I'm looking forward to adding more details to the railway in the coming months. More soon...
