The wonder of magazines…
I love old magazines. Produced without expectation of a long life, despite this examples cling on well past their use by date. In the case of ‘Rail’ (other titles also available) its news and traction review now offer a snapshot of time captured in relative detail in a time before the internet…

Whilst my Hornby ‘125 Train Pack’ was unrealistic it is nothing compared to this… who would have thought a single HST power car would, or even could have been used in this manner. Through the pages of old Rail magazines, bought now for more than their cover price but still just pocket money, I’m enjoying glimpses of a time before exams, girls, relationships, family and mortgages. Oh, for a Time Machine…
Until next time, more soon…
