Breaking news: more GWR 009 from Light Railway Stores

When Steve and I worked with Andy at Rapido to create our limited edition GWR range of their 009 models we kept the crowning glory under our hats until it was about to arrive…

We were certain it would sell well and we were right - the batch sold out in just a few weeks.

This time, since you’ll all be expecting it, we’re announcing our next model to pre-order. That said, we have already placed the order and have the funds to pay for these - your pre-order is only to reserve one of the small batch rather than bank roll our endeavours. You should be able to find the new model on Light Railway Stores now…

This Peckett isn’t just the Gamecock Rapido model - we asked Andy to design us a larger saddle tank - and they obliged - adding a pair of Rapido models to their range to spread out the extra tooling cost - also announced today.

In addition, we have a second batch of the original Sirdar on order - these will be delivered alongside the Peckett models later this year. Thank you for all of your support, it really is a dream come true to be able to indulge in these flights of fancy, but gosh, don’t they look lovely…

We have also been speaking with Peco about a third batch of the coaches and we’ll share more once we have a confirmed delivery date expected to be early 2027.
