Polish LAS in 009: prime grey...

Well after a minor disaster when my daughter dropped the LAS body and the boiler and cab parted company things are looking up...

The repairs are barely noticeable and the frosted detail material responds well to sanding. The boiler will need a little more work but the cab and tanks are looking fine. More soon...

  1. Hello James!
Congratulations for your models! I am looking forward to the ordered LAS, which did shortly run in Salzburgs homeland museum in GroĂźgmain in the west of Salzburg city. You can find the tracks of the railway on via michelin map and satellite. I will use a Roco 80 chassis, hope it will fit, as i did with the Deceauville 25 years ago.
Wonder about the Resita you have designed, especially which chassis you will use. I have searched several days, the best is surely the Bemo Trusetalloco, which is unfortunately out of stock and high priced. Have you already found a suitable chassis from Graham F. or Bachmann or someone else? When do you think will the Resita be available in the shop? the loco is running here in Styria at the Stainzer Flascherlzug, therefore very interesting for us.
    Regards, Chris.

    1. Hi Chris - thanks for the order - please share a link to any build photos here, I'd love to see what you produce. I'm looking forward to adding the extra details to my model in the coming weeks, pipework, valves, rivet details...

In terms of the Resita - it's a slow burn with no definite release date. I plan to produce a prototype in 009, but yes, I believe the H0e version will fit the expensive Bemo chassis - it remains to be seen if the Minitrains Brigadelok is produced in 009 or H0e, if it's 009, then the chassis may be suitable for the H0e version - I have one on order so I'll check when it arrives in June. For my 009 model I will be aiming to design a kit chassis using 3D printed technology, a layshaft with worm gear drive to each axle and a flywheel equipped drive driven by pulley and belt, along with etched nickel silver valve gear and 3D printed cylinders.

    2. Hi James!
It would be great if you design the Resita in H0e too, for us modelrailroders on the continent who first of all buy that scale!
For the chassis please remember the Brigadelok`s wheelbase is surely to short, measures only 9,9mm in scale 009 and 8,6mm in scale H0e between each axel!
Another possibility is to enlarge a Roco Feldbahndampflok frame with a fourth axel, wheelbase is here 11,5mm or modify the chassis of a Minitrix or Fleischmann N gauge V60 up to 12,6mm wheelbase between each axel. The other parts, such as the outer frame, the rods, steering and cylinders you can take from a Roco HF 110. Unfortunately is the wheelbase of the HF 110 to short too.
      Chris
