Quintus in 009: detailed...
So thanks to Peter I received his copy of 'Mineral Railways of the West Country', a photographic album which includes some un-seen shots of the Pike's railway...
In there are a number of Quintus in this form, with the lower tank. As a result my decision to line the tank was the right one - in fact the photos show I should have edged it like the cab sides, and edged the cab front, tank front and probably rear as well! Ho hum - I think once she is gently weathered you won't notice too much.
So I've added glazing, a roof, a crew, a whistle, oil can, bucket and jack - so she is now 'finished'. What's next is some washes, powder, dry brushing and then a tiny bit of airbrushing. Oh, and drawing up her name plates to get them etched!
