Faur L18H in 009: ready for weathering...

This model seems to have been an eternity in the making! Well it's finally painted and ready for weathering, the Romanian built Faur L18H, in the condition it is operating (or was operating) on the Wasser valley forest railway in Romania...
The model is built around a 3D printed core with etched overlays, which means getting a good finish is rewarded when you take your time preparing the materials. With a 3D print this means de-greasing, smoothing flat surfaces and de-fuzzing thin edges. With an etched part this means carefully cleaning up the edges with a file to remove the cusping and ensuring they are flat/straight with no twist or bend caused by the etching process.
My model has been finished with some custom transfers I designed and had printed by John at Precision Labels (great service as usual). The etched plates come with the model... Once I've weathered it there are a few tweaks required to the 3D print before I can make it available as a EuroNG release later in the year. More soon...
