Save the date: Saturday 10th May 2024…
We are on the final stretch in publishing my 3rd book ‘Small Layout Design - Construction’. I would like to invite you all to a launch of this at ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt / Wild Swan Publishing’ on Saturday 10th May 2025…
The new book follows a familiar format, 80 pages, card cover, high quality art paper. The front of the book gives a brief overview of the first, and then goes into ideas on construction of such hi-fi micro or cameo layouts with consideration of power, control, operation and lighting. A series of my typical layout designs follow, one to a spread as readers will recognise from the previous two titles.
Alongside stocks of the new book we will have the first pair available. The first edition of my other project ‘Model Railway Companion’ will shortly sell out but the second should be here by May as well - so you can pick one of these up two… It won’t just be books though, we’re turning the book shop into a display of my hi-fi micro and cameo layouts - expect to see Paxton Road, Wrecsam and Lochdubh - plus possibly anything else finished. A full line up will follow in time…
The event will be at the Titfield shop / studio, where the full range of Wild Swan and with titles of other smaller niche publishers are stocked. The address is Studio 4 Tollbridge Studios, Toll Bridge Road, Bath, BA1 7DE, easily accessible on the north east corner of Bath. Those on public transport will find the bus station adjacent to Bath Spa, and buses towards Chippenham will stop.
It’s exciting to think of a new type of event and a chance to meet some of you, Simon and ai are really looking forward to it. However, do not fear, if you cannot make it then we’ll ensure there are good stocks with all the usual book shops.
Until then though, more soon…
Support my work
I love writing and creating material for the blog. If you enjoy what you read and engage with I would be appreciative of any donation, large or small, to help me keep it advert and restriction free. Alternatively, feel free to buy me a coffee.
Hi James
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new book which looks great, just from the content and cover shot. Wild Swan appear to be making a good production of this
The launch event seems a way to present all your work in one location and hope it leads to a higher profile ( and more commissions!!). I wish I could come but not sure if that will be possible- would be nice to see some video of the day
However, I will be buying the book(s) so please keep us informed of the timing on that. I assume the best way is to also keep looking at Wild Swan's website.
Best wishes for this
Alan
Wonderfull, look forward to receive a copy.
