Paxton Road: Shades of Thornton…
Whilst there are exceptions, a lot of my recent focus in N has been distinctly Scottish, specifically Thornton…
There is nothing really new in this photo, taken a week or so ago - Paxton Road seems to be operated near daily at present and rings the changes. A homely blend of recent Dapol and Sonic with old and ancient Farish - but somehow nothing incongruous - it just works. Perhaps just the brush strokes, the tell tales of a modeller who loves what he does as much as the subject itself? Until next time, more soon…

I sometimes envy you, in the reverse of the normal nostalgic way. You grew up in much simpler times to my generation of railway enthusiast. My childhood and early adult years covered everything from the last days of steam to sectorisation and privatisation. It is much harder to capture my golden period.
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting James - yes, perhaps, I'm not sure but talking with good friend Chris I seem to zero in on a few 'versions' of myself in the past, and the inspiration then fuels particular models/layouts...
