Crewed up…

I’ve recently wondered if Modelu’s figures for the Bachmann Class 20 could work well in N gauge Class 08 and 03 cabs…

The short answer is ‘yes’.

Painting of these tiny chaps isn’t as laborious as it may seem because they don’t need to be that neat, you can barely see them even when they’re not in a dark cab! Instead it is the wash brings out just enough variation to carry off a degree of ‘realism’.

Up close and under the light you can just about see them (above) but on the layout you occasionally glimpse and outline, and it just feels right to see someone inside the miniature engine as it scurries avoid doing its work on the railway. A miniature real person, someone who walks this earth now inhabits my models… funny isn’t it. Until next time, more soon…
