Saturday book club…

Joining me this week are Moose the Labrador and Bronwen the miniature Dachshund with their selection of Saturday morning reading…

I enjoy the quiet moments at the start of the weekend. I make a strong coffee and select a few books from the (embarrassingly) extensive library and enjoy perusing their familiar pages - letting my mind pause on possibility and wander through muses for future ‘one day’ layout schemes.

It is sunny, the coffee tastes good and the dogs are snoring. All is quiet and well in my world, in this moment. Have a good weekend, until next time, more soon…

  1. This sounds much like my Saturday morning James - today’s reading was the Middleton Press book on the KESR, but Light Railway Layout Designs is one of the usual suspects.

It’s much easier to stop yourself spending £100 on a loco than £3 on a book, even if space is becoming an issue!

    1. Thanks Will. I've got another book due to arrive shortly - a new one - but older ones are a treasure trove of period photos - especially the 90s diesel titles...

  2. In bed with a cold/flu thing today (and being supplied with cups of tea! ), so I've been reading Key Publications' book "Germany's Railways 30 Years After Reunification" by Keith Fender which, for me, answers many questions, as the period around Reunification is what my H0 modelling is mostly based on.
LRLD has always been a favourite and will hopefully serve as inspiration when I eventually get around to building the EM Gauge Marches light railway...
What brilliant names for the dogs, James!
    Cheers,
    Simon.
