Lucky but lonely...

I am lucky I suppose. I have a fair amount of discretionary time - and in recent years have re-discovered my childhood passion, modifying and repainting ready to run models in both HO and my new love, British N gauge...

These models begin with a photo or video, an urge to recreate something. It may be something I haven't experienced first hand, the model making as an art form, exploring and understanding my connection to the subject, a desire to create a feeling as well as a physical model; and of course, sharing this with you all. 

It is a wonderful pastime - but a lonely one.

So spare a thought when you lament your own lack of progress when you're sat with a good friend, face to face, enjoying a coffee/beer and catching up - something that I'd happily swap for time at my bench.
