In my reflection?
In search of atmosphere, of soul. Modelling the mundane yet human touch points of our shared railway experience…
Away from the glamour of mainline, even branchline tracks my models have in recent times focused upon the yard, the shed, the closest place we can get to understanding, to feeling the railway.
I wonder, what is it I’m trying to explore, or to understand about myself, through these studies? Through sharing them too? - for this writing becomes a mirror and helps me see my reflection.
That’s all. Until next time, more soon…

Stunning photo James. I honestly thought this could be a real scene. Modelu figures have really raised the game for realism , in the past I've always felt it was model people that gave the game away. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom - I think I’ve shared a similar photo before, the shed was a very photogenic little project, and agree, the Modelu characters have such natural poses. Alan is very good at choreographing what might work well, in a static neutral pose, and this shows in the results.
DeleteI agree. Modelu have captured the generally lean aspect of the human figure. Too many makers produce poorly proportioned folk that look four and a half feet tall with broad shoulders and hunched up necks - possibly based on the jailers in Life of Brian.
ReplyDeleteYes, scanning real people in neutral or natural processes what a game changer.
DeleteJames it definitely was i photogenic project. Modelu certainly have improved with their figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kevin. Wholeheartedly agree.
