Light Railway Stores hand finished weathering…

You may have noticed that Light Railway Stores now offers personalisation and weathering as options on many of the new Rapido models…

The first models to arrive since Steve and I introduced this service were the Sirdar. Steve has been fitting ‘plates only’ but any weathered come here, to North Wales where I do plates and dirtying them up!

I couldn’t resist doing this line up of our limited edition GWR example. These all have etched 12s and several have names fitted. The weathering is subtle but includes a wash to the underframe, footplate, tank tops and buffer beams and airbrushed dirt on the roof, top of the boiler and smokebox.

More bespoke customisation is possible, if you contact Steve during ordering and discuss your requirements with me. The process hopefully will continue to be as seamless as this time around, and only speed up in time.

Did you see our news on Friday about more GWR models in the Llanfyllin and Llangynog range?

Meanwhile, back to commissions. Until next time, more soon…

  1. Morning James. That's a nice line up, the GWR livery suits the locos. All this talk about weathering reminds me of your upcoming book! No pressure though.
    Take care.
