This short stretch of test track sits above my workbench. I often just take it down and look at it, it felt like such a milestone when completed yet so far has led nowhere serious…

It seems to capture something of the short-line railroading that I find fascinating. Past it’s best but with employees valiantly maintaining service despite slow orders and old locomotives… it could be 1970 or even last week. Time stands still in our modelling, and this particular blend of rose tinted nostalgia can be sampled from several vintages.
