Book Launch Event count down...

Time is doing its thing - ticking on and I realised that there are only a few weeks until the book launch event in Bath. A pleasant hour on the laptop created a couple of posters, a chance to contemplate the look and feel of the exhibition and to anticipate meeting with many of you...

We're hosting at Simon's book shop on the outskirts of Bath - a small retail space and warehouse / packing area will come alive with a display of my own model railways. In addition to a few regulars (Paxton Road and Coalbridge Street) I hope to bring along Wrecsam to demonstrate the Mosslanda. Perhaps more exciting, Kevin has agreed to bring Leatown, a layout I designed and built for him last year - and Kohlenbachbrücke, now owned by David, will be joining us too!

Simon's shop is called 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' and as well as stock of the new book we should have the first copies of Companion 2. There will also be the chance to buy my earlier titles - and I'm happy to sign and dedicate these... I believe there may be a book sale as well, so bring your wallets and help make the event a great success.

There is limited on-site car parking but I'm sure plenty around the area if we're full - and you're on the bus route between Bath and Frome from the railway station.

There is no need to RSVP but if you're planning on coming I'd love to hear from you - it will also give us some idea of how much tea/coffee and cake to source in advance too!

Come along for a gentle, relaxed event, to meet like minded modellers and take the rare opportunity to see my layouts in person. Until next time, more soon...

  2. Hi James

Wish I could come but thats not possible at present. However looking forward to getting the new book- know it will be great . Hope the launch is successful as it should be

Also really liked the recent Beaverbrook post. Your modelling is a very very good rendition of the prototype. How much of the "cement traffic" is real and how much a might be?

I have a whole "faux" history of my railroad which justifies my use of certain lokeys or stock and overall anchors it in the "yes that is the way it would have developed - other companies did/do it that way". I feel Beaverbrook has some of that feel

    Have a good weekend
    Best regards
    Alan

  3. Looking forward to seeing you, Simon, and the layouts, James!
I'm up for both the new book and a Companion 2, and will be particularly interested in seeing Kohlenbachbrucke in reality.
    Cheers,
    Simon.
