Wonderful contrast...

Shadow. A wonderful contrast, nothing without the light, nothing without the dark. Beauty formed in natural and man made forms from the interplay with these opposing concepts…

In our creations shadow can be both friend and foe. To be avoided onto a back scene but applauded when exiting off stage. More though, a chance to create contrast, interest, to tell our stories in miniature.

Wrecsam Canolog / Wrexham Central lives in the shadow of Coalbridge Street - and yet at the flick of the switch it comes to life and casts its own - Inside, the play of light upon the bridge and support creates texture and darkness beneath. The modern canopy with its framing angled upwards provide graduation and shadow receding to black. Light and dark in just 55cm.

Light and dark, the story of our lives.

Until next time, more soon...

  1. The second picture is something special. I have never been to Wrecsam Canolog in its current form. But I recognise St. Giles church in the background. The eye level view really puts me right there.

    1. Thanks Ian, indeed a lot has changed. Today even the trains are somewhat futuristic! No Sprinters anymore.
