Commission: Customising a 15xx...

Not every commission costs the earth or takes an age. Beyond weathering I am pleased to offer a customisation service too, and this Rapido 15xx has been gently worked over to my customers requirements and budget...

I was asked to source and apply the nameplates as well as the fine white lining (actually I used Humbrol 28, as a soft off white it works better). We later agreed to add the white tired wheels and the silver detail on the smokebox.

Whilst I might have weathered her, my customer wanted her clean - and I think the addition of the custom work really has transformed an 'out of the box' wonder to one that tells his story. I hope you might consider me for similar work, I would love to work with you in the future. If you'd like to explore costs then get in touch via the form here on the website - or failing that, you can visit my Facebook page where there is a direct link to email me.

Until next time, more soon...

  1. The 15xx has never been my favourite looking loco, but this one looks a real treat James.

    1. They’re odd beasts, I weathered a red one last year and I do think I prefer the industrial colours to the austere black.
