8 mindful minutes at Penpont…

Shuffling wagons around without purpose, gently watching the diminutive blue shunter in this moonscapes landscape, its outside motion captivating your attention…

It seems that Penpont is more than just a portable layout in a tiny box. It is a calming place to visit, on a par with Paxton Road - in fact perhaps even more wound back to basics. No thinking about what stock to run, the decision is made for you.

A good friend noted…

“I love the stripped back look of this layout. It’s like an acoustic version of one of your favourite songs”.

This video is just 8 minutes of shunting. No purpose, no plan. Back and forth, clunk click and drive. Watch the engine and stock. Absorb the stripped back scenery. Let your mind calm.

Remember, this is modern British N. Until next time, more soon…

  3. Yes, calming to watch. But even more calming to actually perform the actions. The side to side action is hypnotic, like watching a pendulum.

    1. Yes, quite! Definitely something very tactile about DC operation and a sliding fiddle stick like this…

  5. James I must agree Penpoint is a lovely micro you built and it really does relax you and takes you away from everyday life even if its only 8 minutes.
