In search of solace…

It was a beautiful day yesterday. Spring at its very best here in the Dee Valley…

There were lambs in the fields, the sky was blue, the river was sparking in spring sunshine. Daffodils lined the lane as I cycled from Glyndyfrdwy to Carrog to capture the diesel hauled charter with 47449 and the steam hauled service train with 3802.

In search of solace,
Found on a Great Western bench,
The railway rejuvenates.
I ate my pack lunch on the platform at Carrog,
Waiting for trains in the sunshine,
The lambs chorus quite distracting but wonderful,
No internet, no distraction, just nature and man made history breathing with the love of volunteers.

For this isn’t a preserved relic, it is a living, breathing railway.

Until next time, more soon…

    1. Thanks Eric. A little clumsy as I’m tired this morning; but the sentiment I hope is clear.
