Coaches for Bejsu Reka...

For my forestry railway I needed a few coaches and the Minitrains Brigadelok set came to the rescue...

I have based these on Czech and Slovak examples so one is maroon without the drop lights, and the second dark green with them. Both will have window frames picked out in a light brown colour, dark brown/black roofs and a little weathering. More soon...

  1. In fact, the items you are showing are the German WWI Feldbahn coaches. Their gauge was 600 mm. More of the same are used e.g. at Muskau.

I have some usable drawings of the original Slovak 760 mm (2 feet 6 inches) forrestry coaches from Cierny Balog. You can get them if you want.

  2. Hank I am aware of the history of these coaches, and am using them purely for ease, and do not intend for them to represent any one prototype in particular. Please note I also model in 1:76 rather than 1:87 scale, so I often have to scratchbuild, design my own kits or make approximations with what is already available. Thank you for the offer of drawings, I believe I may have something similar already in my archives? (a large collection of non-English books on forestry railways across Europe).
