Quarry Hunslet in 009...

I've wanted to make one of Brian Madge's lovely little quarry Hunslets in 009 for a long time so imagine my joy when one dropped through the letter box this week!

I plumped for Dorothea, as I don't do slate, so I thought the cab would allow me a little licence to use the model on Creech Bottom or other layouts I build in the future. The excellent book on the Quarry Hunslets has a section on Dorothea - and that will be my inspiration. I intend to re-name it I think, but with Dorothea's colour scheme and heavily weathered to represent a hard working life...

When I get a few of my other projects off the bench I'll make a good start!
