Commission: Groudle Glen coaches in 7/8ths...

This pair of large 7/8ths (1:13/7) scale Groudle Glen bogie coaches seem to have been on my workbench for some time, but they've been worth the wait, they look superb and will shortly be on their way to their new home in Florida...
They are built from the Peter Yatton designed kits, and have needed quite a lot of work to hide and disguise the tab and slot construction. The fit of parts is ok, but I'm still to be convinced of the use of Plywood when trying to recreate a smooth surface in this scale...
They are obviously only posed on my own 32mm line here, as they have been built to 45mm gauge. They are fitted with Swift Sixteen bell-mouth couplers that have been blackened, and fitted to pivoting thin brass plates that are hung from the bogie pivot. These allow a little articulation but the long length and restricted swing of the bogies due to the foot steps will mean they need quite generous curves in action. The foot boards have been left off to avoid damage in transit so are not pictured in these images.
Although finishing these has freed up some space in my workshop, that will shortly be filled by a pair of 1/12th scale coaches that I've designed and am building for a customer in the UK. If you're interested in your own personalised model, be it a kit build, scratch build or simple a repaint, then get in touch for an individual proposal. More soon...
