16mm Hudson Hunslet in 2020...
With the current batch of Hudson Hunslet in 7/8ths well in construction, and the Ruston Proctor decided as the 7/8ths batch locomotive for 2020, thoughts have turned to other projects and one I've wanted to try for a while is a high quality, highly detailed model in 16mm (1:19) scale...
Ive seen some wonderful models in the scale before, but what seems to be the norm is for models more at the value end of the spectrum rather than really exploiting the larger scale for increased levels of detail. Now these models in 16mm will never have the mass of a 7/8ths model, and an original Hudson Hunslet with exposed engine would only be possible as a track powered model as there is no where to hide a battery and receiver in the smaller scale, but small industrials are still possible - and so I've decided to re-use some of the development work from the 7/8ths models and produce a later 24hp Hudson Hunslet, with angled sloping bonnet.
Specification (provisional):
I am confident I can produce a limited run batch for £750 each including UK delivery.
At this stage all I've done is look at parts lists and scale drawings to prove the viability of the project. If you've a genuine interest please do drop me an email (the address is in the graphic) and I will be in touch if there is enough demand to warrant further development work.
In the meantime, having sourced the drawings, I am happy to offer the model in 7/8ths as a custom build, the engine compartment makes adding sound eminently possible so if you'd like one in the larger scale get in touch.
More soon...
