Friday update: Sixteen eight nineteen...
It's been another busy fortnight with kids holiday and so not much work on customer commissions to report, with two camping holidays and a visit to see my Mum in Pembrokeshire...
Anglesey is always a lovely place to visit, and we did South Stack with the kids - the bridge over to the island has been somewhat improved since my last visit in the early 1990s. Camping was fun, a few days of mixed weather on the north of the island but we managed a few beaches and evening walks black-berrying...
Down to Pembrokeshire, and then over to Carmenthenshire to the Gwili Railway, a lovely industrial feel, although it reminded me more of the early Llangollen or Peak Railway at Darley Dale, and they have a decent run but a lot of work to do in terms of infrastructure and under-cover storage for stock and locomotives. What was nice was the distinct lack of junk parked up in sidings!
Back at home Canal Street Wharf had a photoshoot for an upcoming magazine article and I managed to get some black paint on the wheels of the Janus...
...and then we were back camping on Anglesey this week with all 4 kids - which has totally wiped me out. Back down to Pembrokeshire again for a time next week but a few days work so I will be progressing the 1/12th coaches and the 7/8ths 45mm gauge Hudson Hunslets.
More soon...
