Commission: LMS hoppers...
The bodywork is largely 30thou styrene with 20 thou bracing and micro-strip used for the edging - mated to modified Parkside chassis - the axle boxes cut off and moved out 1mm each to represent the prototypes 10ft6in wheelbase - also meaning the brake gear needed extending.
Once smooth Archer rivet transfers were paintstakingly added to the bodywork before sealing in primer. The hardest part was trying to achieve a consistent finish on both wagons - not as easy as it would seem with the myriad of angles involved in the bodywork but I'm pleased with the result.
Hopefully they will be off to their new home shortly where my customer will paint and finish them - I'll share a photo on Facebook when they're finished if possible. In the meantime, if you'd like me to build you a one off model from scratch, in any scale or gauge, get in touch for a personal proposal. More soon...
