Dyfrdwy Tramway: Post C-19 tour...
Well this week I've been lucky enough to visit another garden railway, and in this brave new world post C-19 I'm pleased to report it was fun, not awkward, and sensible...
It was a real scorcher of a day, nearly 30degC in the sun, clear blue skies, the trains were hot, the track hot, but generally speaking no problems running. The regulator still isn't right though, so I need to speak to Dave Mee's again and see if I can get some more advice or bite the bullet and get her serviced.
We visited John's railway and he has some new structures around the rebuilt station/steam up area that don't look too out of scale when with my 7/8ths models. I managed to squeeze the Keef K40 driver in the brake van, it seemed odd to run without a guard!
It was so hot I didn't manage many photos but I did get this one of a Roundhouse Russell in the sunshine....
All in all a good afternoon and one that gives hope that before long we can get back to the social side of the hobby. In the meantime, I hope to get a few more running sessions on my own line this summer, even if only diesel powered. More soon...
