The art of being busy waiting...
It is 1973, the crew are waiting at the Visser warehouse, Kinross on the Murray Harbour sub, under the watchful eyes of a young gentleman...
Canadian National settled on a fleet of GE 70t switchers for it's operations on Prince Edward Island following an unsuccessful trial of some Whitcomb units. These helped completely dieselise operations, and lasted until nearly the end of the line, seeking our an existence on the lightly laid subs on the east of the network until the early 1980s.
Number 35 is based upon a Bachmann H0 scale model with a lot of extra details, and sits on some trucks with replacement frames I designed. The PEI units had a different truck than standard, and this is a key spotting feature along with the road switcher style number boards and class lights. Kinross is my H0 scale cameo layout based upon the end of rail operation on Prince Edward Island. More soon...
