Paxton coal...

Paxton Road has been rather taken over by Speedlink coal in recent weeks. The ten Coventry Railworks HEA hopper wagons are moving through the paint shop for weathering...

All that means is that there is a distinct flavour of South Wales here too - with my cut-down 08 and lowered heavyweight 37. That is no bad thing, the more restricted palette of colours works equally well on the layout, and the shuffling of wagons from siding to siding giving me a feel for how the Cwmmawr cameo might feel, perhaps sooner rather than later?

In the meantime, I enjoy these candid snatched glimpses of the layout in stasis, leaving the lights on between operation, posing scenes like this... enjoying the well matured blend of British Finescale Track, Greenscenes pale static grass and the wonderful old oak. Until next time, more soon...

  1. James there is something about the railfreight HEA hopper wagons that always draws me to them. Love the photos James.

    1. Thanks Kevin - I like the uniformity of livery on a rake of these... they might all be slightly different too, but the same.
