Commission: Dirty TUA in OO gauge…

It is the first time I’ve had a chance to set eyes on these Revolution TUA wagons and I’m impressed…

Produced exclusively for Rainbow Railways and in a variety of liveries covering the lifespan of the prototype. This pair landed along with the class 25 destined for Leatown.

The weathering is a combination of washes, micro painting (including streaking), air brushing and dry brushing. All of this based upon studying the excellent photos so kindly shared online by Paul Bartlett.

As part of this transformation I noticed the printed details were slightly glossy over the tank, in addition the tank ends were more matt than the tank barrel. A quick coat of satin lacquer before the weathering began was all that was needed to address this minor fault.

If you would like me to bring some character and life to your out of the box ready to run models, I’m able to offer complete numbering and weathering service to your requirements. Get in touch using the contact form in the menu, email via my Facebook page or the forum messaging services, but until next time though, more soon…
