For Sale: Network Rail 97 and inspection saloon…

Sensible head prevails. I end up collecting things because I enjoy making them, but they become distractions at best and a ball and chain at worst…

It was only a few weeks ago I finished 97304, this isn’t a Farish renumber but a ground up rework. No headlights are fitted anymore but she is detailed, lowered and weathered to represent the prototype as she runs today. That work included smoothing and filling handles and panels on the body as well as the antenna in place of half of the fuel tank. Detailed buffer beams with refined MU cable and DG. Fully repainted with custom ‘Talyllyn’ nameplates, she is lovely.

Alongside, I have a Farish inspection saloon modified to run on B4 bogies and with a cantrail orange stripe and warning flashes added (see lower image). Fitted with DG at one end and a detailed buffer beam the other she is a good pairing for the Type 3.

I loved creating this model, fuelled by that experience in December but I don’t need her to remember that - I’ve learnt that the hard way over the years - perhaps she will find a new home with you?

I’m asking for £220 for the pair including UK insured and tracked next day postage. Get in touch in the usual way, the form here, email through Facebook or messenger. Help me out, and let me focus on Lochdubh and Paxton Road! Until next time, more soon…
